My name is Jarrell. I am a recent graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance. I have had opportunities to perform recitals, operas and solo performances. I have performed in multiple places across the United States. My starting point for my students is typically having them practice posture, hand position and proper mouthpiece placement. After this has been satisfied, I have the students blow using a breathing exercise. From this, I have the students play the first three notes out of their Habits of Good Musician Book 1. I am a serious, nerdy musician who loves to learn something new every day and then pass that knowledge along through teaching others. After several stints at several colleges for both Music Performance and Audio Engineering I am thoroughly enjoying a performing career focusing on drumset, piano and voice. I can often be found playing music and singing at many establishments in the Houston/Austin/San Antonio area. For beginning students between ages 3 and 6 I use Progressive Piano Method for the young beginner. Older beginners are given options based on their age, ability and goals. I have testing materials available for those who are interested. When I taught international students at Brook Mays, I learned many different techniques for young beginners. Most of my students start at around 3 or 4 and stay with me all the way through advanced Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, etc. Read More

I'm a very passionate and musically inclined person that loves teaching. I gratudated from Prairie View AM University in 2015 with a B.A. Degree in Music. During my time there I was the Jazz Band Lead Trumpet, Marching Band Section Leader, and Brass Ensemble Principal Player. over the course of mymusical career I have been to Connecticut, Alabama, Georgia, California, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Florida and almost every city in Texas.
