I began teaching Guitar and Piano during college as a way to expand my playing and teaching skills. Over the years I gained extensive knowledge of teaching techniques and how to work with students at all levels, ages, backgrounds, and understanding of theoretical music application. My lessons typically start with stretching and breathing exercises and then transition to vocal exercises. The vocal exercises serve to strengthen their technique and solidify skills needed to tackle their song. I always ask my students what kind of music they are interested in and find songs to work on that will help strengthen their voice, but also connect with their soul. I love teaching the trombone! I think more kids should check it out, and adults should continue playing throughout their lives even if it isn't a profession. I am a graduate from the Lamont School of Music in DU, and received my bachelor's at Cal State Northridge, both degrees in performance. I've played in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in DC. I am classically trained but also love to play jazz music. Read More

For voice lessons, I tailor my supplemental book teaching to the students individual learning abilities, as well as learning songs they are passionate about.
