I started teaching when I was in high school, I began by teaching young students ranging from 5 years old to teenagers. As I started attending college, my students' age spectrum expanded into adults and even seniors. I teach a classical , bell canto foundation so my students learn how to use their voice properly and then add different techniques to help them shape their sound for different styles of singing. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for singing! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I try to set realistic goals for my students at each lesson. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs!I encourage my students to practice at least 15 minutes per day and I continually each student new materials to practice( which is age appropriate.) The trombone is such a versatile instrument that there are tons of different styles of playing to practice. Depending on the student's level I will build curriculum for them.
