Instruments: Voice

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching a college level choir for 3 years, and have continued my teaching with intensive Vocal Pedagogy training during and after my graduate studies at North Park University. I believe in being supportive, encouraging, and kind, yet firm.    I encourage those students who are interested in performing by helping them to find opportunities. Every student is different and has different goals. We work to develop their potential. Some of my students are beginners and some have more experience. I like to make the lessons as fun as they can be and work on pieces and songs that the students enjoy! Read More

Some want to learn how to play a song or two on the piano. Others want to take RCM exams. I love meeting students where they're at and helping them out along the way! I believe everyone can and should make music! Read More

Every student is unique in their ability level, dedication to the instrument/craft, et. al; therefore, I cannot expect that every student will be the next Larry Combs. I do, however, expect that every student take their responsibility for practicing each week, coming prepared to lessons, and being a good student. In lessons, I am kind and personable as anyone should be, but I like to make clear my expectations right from the beginning. Read More
