You cannot have one without the other and even when I am teaching proper technique I work to make sure the student is being their most natural self, physically, mentally and musically. Music making and teaching has been my passion since I was young. In 2020, I graduated from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education. As a child, I participated in choir for 8 years and was in the University of Michigan's University Choir and Orpheus Singers. I began taking private voice lessons at a late age (17 years old) and became a professional musician, so I know that it is possible to be successful even when starting later in life! Read More

Her awards include; 2nd Place in the Graduate Division of the Conrad Art Song Competition, the Shirley Verett Young Artist Honorable Mention from the Harold Haugh Light Opera Vocal Competition, and was Second Place in the Junior Division at the NATS Regional Competition. She has performed notable roles such as; Amanda in The Carp, Kitty in The Golden Girl, Lady Psyche in Princess Ida, Shirley Kaplan in Street Scene, Tessa in The Gondoliers, Cecily in La Divina, Adele in Die Fledermaus, 2nd Woman in Dido and Aeneas, and more. In December of the same year, I began my work as Music Director at St. Thomas More Church in Troy, part of the Diocese of Detroit. My work there was different from my previous position. This was a more “contemporary parish”. I used mostly contemporary catholic repertoire and had a strong focus on developing the vocal technique of the choir members. My work at both parishes was successful, and I am confident that my references can attest to the quality of my work as a conductor. Read More

I sometimes fill in teaching in a theater class for vocals and guitar. My teaching experience goes back to my days trying to show my friends and family how to play a chord. I hold a degree from Case Western Reserve University where I studied art and music theory. My professional experience includes singing with a Chorale that performed with the Cleveland Symphony and performances as a soloist with choirs in Ohio and Michigan. I founded and was the director of the Academie des Beaux-Arts, a performing arts school and the Actors Alliance Theatre, a professional theater company that gave young people a chance to perform with professional actors. Having at least some goal in mind and working towards that musical goal will help a student achieve success in whatever they put forth on their instrument of choice as well as music as a whole.
