I have had many experiences in my pursuit of Music throughout the Eastern Seaboard. I have had professional singing experiences as well in a few varied genres, include Gospel, Spiritual and Classical musics. My professional training in Education has afforded me the luxury of teaching in a variety of educational settings ranging from Pre-School to Adult Continuing Education. To culminate my work experiences in Therapeutic Music as both a Recreation Specialist and Music Therapist, I completed one year of study at New York University and have plans to one day finish a program I started there. I have also maintained my skill at performance on Woodwinds and Classical guitar, which I enjoy especially having students to prepare for. Though the focus of my degree was Opera, I am practiced in many different genres of music. I was a student leader in the marching band, serving as the woodwind captain for the marching band and the senior student conductor for the concert bands. With these positions, I was able to tutor peers and work on expanding my knowledge of teaching music. For my voice students, I typically focus on their genre of music and teaching their goal in singing. While studying at Campbell, Joshua served as the Principle Bassoonist in the Cape Fear Symphony and Principle Trombone in the Campbell University Wind Ensemble. I was in choir and band all throughout middle/high school and went to college unsure if I wanted to focus on music or theatre. I was very active in both departments and continued to take private piano and voice lessons but theatre won out and my primary focus changed to scenic painting.
