I encourage these students to develop auditory skills through imitation games and improvisation. Other students play by ear and prefer to memorize all pieces. I use a variety of materials for voice students. I may ask that my voice students purchase books of repertoire that contain songs useful for building on their strengths and working on their weaknesses.
