I love watching my students develop a passion for music! I encourage students to practice regularly and to persevere toward specific goals. It is my philosophy that taking lessons alone will not develop the musicians skills, but through consistent practice, perseverance, and patience, a student will be able to see real progress and eventually achieve their goals. No dream is achieved overnight! Some of my favorite moments during my four years of teaching thus far have been seeing my students achieve their goals, whether they are landing the lead role in a musical, being accepted into the top choir at their school, receiving high marks at contests, or something as simple as performing in their first recital, having a break-through moment with a new technique during lessons, or memorizing their first foreign-language piece. I formed a love for psychology later in life. Fortunately, I have found a field of study that will allow me to pursue both at once, music therapy. Read More

Having worked with students throughout Northern Virginia since 2000, I bring a depth of professional experience and knowledge to those who are eager to expand their minds, talents, and skills. I am passionate about musical education. It is my belief that music is a gift to be shared - not just between instructor and student but also between the student and their community. Read More

Its important for me to know what the student is interested and what they want to get out of the lessons, and specifically what repertoire they would like to work on, and from there we can work on a plan moving forward. Learning to sing is a rewarding and worthwhile endeavor and I approach my students individualistically. I assign my student vocal exercises and repertoire and provide clear and thorough instruction to keep lessons fun and engaging! I challenge my students to practice and perfect the assigned homework and songs so that we may keep improving every week.  Through the years, I have built a vocal technique from the ground up which has allowed me to teach and guide students in their own journey in singing.
