I have been discovering my love for teaching for the last 5 years. I started within my undergrad school. I graduated from Western Carolina University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance (Classical) as well as a minor in Psychology. I was able to perform my first professional show with Asheville Lyric opera as a chorister in La Traviata in 2012. I trained with multiple professionals through the Crittenden Opera Workshop in Boston and The Torggler Institute in Newport News, VA. Read More

My teaching experience started 8 years ago, when I began teaching private lessons part time while studying. Since 2006, I have been consistantly teaching students in my home studio as well as in several music schools. I taught novices as well as professional actors. Beside vocal lessons, I have been teaching Piano and Flute for beginners, provoding Ear Training, Music Theory, Improvisation and Songwriting classes and led young musicians to their entry exam for College / University studies. I have performed all over the world on luxury cruise lines and have even had the joy of singing at The White House. So, not only do I teach but I have a great understanding of the entertainment business and can help my students to nail that audition and land the job or role they are looking for. My students appreciate having a teacher who understands where they are coming from and that I can help them get over whatever hurtles are in their way. Read More

Instruments: Voice Violin Electric Violin Music

For all of my students, I let them pick a song (vocal) or piece (violin) that they would like to sing or play. This way I can analyze what level they are on. For my voice students, I start with vocal warm-up exercises of the different vowels. It helps me to understand their range as well as tone of voice. For my violin students, I usually stick with the Suzuki Method, or Essential Elements books, if they are in the more beginning stages. Read More

To me, the student's journey ALWAYS comes first, and I believe that is why I have been able to have been teaching for 20 years. Most of my students stay with me for up to 11 years as I teach them how to speak music fluently by studying several genres and perhaps multiple instruments. I am extremely passionate about each of my students, being very diligent to 'see' the individual for who they are, sculpt and carve a very unique custom path to success on their instrument. I didn't enter this industry as a teacher, but as an artist and activist. At 11 years old, I learned about the human trafficking epidemic and was determined to do something to help. I gathered up my keyboard and my little sister Iris (then 4 years old), and began writing and performing music to raise funds and awareness for victims. Over the next six years, we performed at conventions, opened for artists in concert, and produced charity projects with young people from the Broadway community. Read More
