I have been discovering my love for teaching for the last 5 years. I started within my undergrad school. I graduated from Western Carolina University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance (Classical) as well as a minor in Psychology. I was able to perform my first professional show with Asheville Lyric opera as a chorister in La Traviata in 2012. Since 2006, I have been consistantly teaching students in my home studio as well as in several music schools. I taught novices as well as professional actors. For all of my students, I let them pick a song (vocal) or piece (violin) that they would like to sing or play. This way I can analyze what level they are on. For my voice students, I start with vocal warm-up exercises of the different vowels. It helps me to understand their range as well as tone of voice. For my violin students, I usually stick with the Suzuki Method, or Essential Elements books, if they are in the more beginning stages. Read More

I didn't enter this industry as a teacher, but as an artist and activist. At 11 years old, I learned about the human trafficking epidemic and was determined to do something to help. I gathered up my keyboard and my little sister Iris (then 4 years old), and began writing and performing music to raise funds and awareness for victims. Over the next six years, we performed at conventions, opened for artists in concert, and produced charity projects with young people from the Broadway community. Read More
