In 1992 I was certified by Dr. L Scott Martin, Phd from Juilliard, to teach vocal performance at his Academy of the Arts in Denver, and I have continued to the present, to coach young singers to express themselves with music. Some students will pick up a technique or a piece of music in one week, while another might struggle with the same piece for a whole month, and that's okay! Everybody's experience with music is different and not everybody will pick things up as quickly as others so you must meet them where they are. Music is nerve-racking at first because expressing ourselves isn't something that is always encouraged so I look for something they are interested in to start off. In May 2015, I completed my Masters of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music.
