In my piano classes I use the Bastien piano method beginning at the primer level for the children. If they have had previous lessons, I am more than willing to continue with their current method. For adult piano students I use the Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. Again, if they wish to continue with previously studied materials, I am more than happy to comply with that. My teaching experience began in 2008, when I began teaching private lessons on various instruments, on voice, and on conducting. I later went on to teach band and choir at Cedar Bluff High School in 2011. After this, I volunteered as the band director at Valley Head High School in 2014. I have enjoyed every moment of teaching music and have taken so much from the experiences that I've had. One of my 1st Grade Violin Students impressed the president of Columbia College of Music so much that my students were offered life-time scholarships to attend Blues Kid's Camp, held annually at Columbia College in Chicago. I teach different methods of breathing, including low costal breathing and we focus on posture, sound placement, among many other fun skills. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Music performance, emphasis in voice and have continued my career with music.
