I enjoy eccentric people and places because it makes life so much more interesting! I've lived in several different places such as: Hawaii, Nevada, Texas, California, and I've even lived in the Philippines. I could say I'm pretty "cultured" and I'm able to genuinely connect with a diverse group of people. I teach classical technique that can be applied to any type or genreof music. I usually start with standard singing and breathing techniques. Then I will listen to a student's voice and determine their range and pick out a solo song based on their range, ability level, and the preferences of the student. Smiley has played for celebrity singers including Carlos Santana, comedian Tommy Davidson, as well as John Witherspoon. At Colorado State University I taught a to wide range of students and styles from freshmen voice majors, choral conducting graduate students, theater majors, voice minors, and even a couple aspiring folk/country singers! Since the moment I was born I love singing!!! In 1996 I graduated from Moscow Gnessin Music College with Bachelor of Arts Degree in Solo Voice and Chorus Performance. In 2002 I graduated from Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Master of Arts Degree in Solo Opera, Choral and Chamber Voice Performance. In 1996, I won first prize in the Moscows Bella Voce Vocal Competition and, in 1999, won their grand prize. In 2000 I received a Special Award at the International Bulbul Vocal Competition in Baku.
