My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 4 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 4 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. After my undergraduate was completed, I began working at a franchised music eduction school for a year and a half. I had 20 students ranging from keyboard, drums, vocals, and I also was a Show Director for the various shows put on each season. I then move on to basic note recognition on paper. This allows them to be able to visually identify when notes are moving up and down and so on. Once they become more comfortable with this method, I move onto memorizing and learning new repertoire. For more advanced students, I really try to hone in on these things while also focusing deeper on their technique. I try to really stay within the student's interests no matter what level, while also giving them things outside of their box to challenge them and help them grow. Read More

I went on to study Vocal Performance at Vanderbilt University, where I discovered the joy of Songwriting on the Piano and Guitar.
