As a music teacher, I am passionate about giving people of all ages the tools for self-expression and collaboration. I am a performer, flautist and singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia and I have been an active member of the music community for over a decade. Rimsky-Korsakov Children's Music School in Mykolaiv helped me prepared my students for earning high scores on their academic music examinations, participate in annual national music competitions and programmed regional music recitals , with several of my students winning first place awards and continuing their pursuit of becoming a musicians at the post- secondary education level. In the first lesson, I listen very carefully to what the student wants to achieve and how they feel about the way they sing. Then, I begin my strategy of how to devise a skills building foundation based on their needs. After a few exercises, I can understand how quickly they can adapt and try new techniques. I have a routine that I use for the lesson time--breath exercises followed by the vocal warm up and then working on a piece. During that process I always encourage an open dialogue between myself and every student. I want to student to feel as comfortable as possible and always have the option to ask questions and take part in their development as a singer.
