I love being able to see my students succeed and show pride in what they perform. I consider how I can make difficult concepts easier to understand and apply and I always maintain patience as each student progresses at their own pace. Every lesson I have my students write the information they need to know in order for them to better retain the knowledge and set goals that are both practical and realistic. Read More

I am a laid back teacher, but I make sure all students behave and learn. I love when the students enjoy what they are doing, and when I enjoy what I am doing. It's a relationship that you build. I expect the students to practice their craft. I continue to learn as I teach as well. Inspiration is very important. The inspired students are special for they know what they want to accomplish. Whether young or old, I am able to accommodate you with your preference of musical facilities. I cannot stress enough the importance on LOVING what you do and LOVING why you do it- Therefore, I generally communicate between lessons with students to be notified of their progress & educational desires. While there, I studied within the jazz ensemble, wind ensemble, concert band, marching and pep bands, and saxophone quintet. Read More

After we performed, we would have a talk back with the kids where they would ask different questions about acting and my experience with singing, and it filled my heart to see so many kids be entranced by theater and inspired to be in the arts themselves. I had another class i high school that focused on bringing arts to different communities around Chicago, and once every couple weeks we would go to a different middle school and play improv games, create scenes, and sing with the children of the schools so that they can learn how to embrace who they are through performance. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music and they start performing ! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson and I also give them homework to practice. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.. Read More
