I have taught quite literally all ages. 5-75. Styles and lesson books used varied depending upon student and school. I usually taught Suzuki for violin, viola and classical guitar (tend to prefer Scott Tennant Pumping Nylon book for classical guitar though). And usually Faber Piano Adventures for young piano students. Eventually going to Clementi Sonatinas and Chopin Preludes. Also Mel Bay Modern Guitar for beginning rock/jazz guitarists. Then eventually going to Mickey Bakers Jazz Guitar books. Read More

Instruments: Violin

I start by setting realistic goals for each lesson, but I will not rush past something just to be able to finish the lesson plan I had written out for the day. The core fundamentals of violin are so important and believe that everything deserves adequate attention. Quality over quantity. I believe in giving student specific compliments, but children can tell when you are not being genuine, so I make sure to be thoughtful when giving them. Read More

Instruments: Piano Violin

I loved to teach students on playing violin and piano. I enjoy working with my students at my home studio. The experience that I teach is to learn the parts of the music instrument. The students were sometimes understand the music about the notes, parts of the methods and working on the rhythm. Few students were having a little mistake on the body position of the violin and piano. I work with a student to relax their bodies, good posture and attitude. Read More

Instruments: Violin Viola

For young students, I use a Suzuki Method hybrid, meaning I incorporate additional note-reading and music theory elements while using the Suzuki Violin books and Suzuki's core values of imitation and ear training. I also supplement with many pieces outside of the Suzuki Method, including folk, blues, fiddle, and other styles. As students progress I include traditional etudes, technique studies and scales. My ultimate goal is to give my students all the tools they need to play and learn pieces on their own, and to that end I ensure they fully comprehend and master each step of learning before introducing new concepts. Instruments: Piano Violin

I stress the basics: scales, arpeggios and chords for piano and scales and double stops for violin. In regard to the piano, I have students practice each hand alone before combining them. Generally two pieces are assigned for students to work on and that work is continued for several weeks. I emphasize sight reading and rhythm. These are two aspects of music that are difficult for many. In regard to reading, the names and purposes of the various signs and symbols must be learned. Read More
