My teaching experience dates back to when I was in high school, when I began teaching beginning students of all instruments 10 years ago. I have been consistently teaching students in their homes, my home, and online for the past 5 years. Ive found that introducing students to as many different styles of music as possible goes a long way in helping students enjoy playing their instrument and listening to recordings of their instrument. I start by setting realistic goals for each lesson, but I will not rush past something just to be able to finish the lesson plan I had written out for the day. The core fundamentals of violin are so important and believe that everything deserves adequate attention. Quality over quantity. I have been playing the violin since I was 3, my father was my first violin teacher.  Music is a big part of my life and I do enjoy performing and teaching very much.  I love sharing my music knowledge with others, seeing my students making progress and achieving their goals is priceless and makes my life more worth living.  I have performed as violin soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster of orchestras, those are valuable experiences I had in life that I'd love to pass on to others.  I have also had student recitals every year in the past ten years, my students and I have toured and performed in China. I started teaching part time while still in high school back in my native Malaysia and that is where my experience began. I taught on and off while in Malaysia during the pandemic (due to the nature of COVID), but I have gotten into regular teaching since moving to LA in 2022. I am an instructor who emphasizes student success, happiness, fulfillment and result. I understand that some students have different wants, needs and priorities when it comes to music education and I am ready to cater to all student types! Read More

For beginning students who are children, I have a wide range of method books such as Alfred's Basic Piano, Bastien Piano basic Method and/or John Thompson's piano course. When my student started to understand the basics of the instrument, we begin to create their repertoire with the songs they are interested in and suitable for their level. For my adult students, I try to find out what they are interested in and guide my teaching accordingly to make lessons exciting and fun, regarding their skill level. Read More

Lowell Liebermann. I was chosen as the primary film composer for the student thesis films and graduated in May of 2018. I was selected to compose a piece for the 7:1 dance collaboration project run by the Rovaco Dance Company. Upon reviewing the May 2017 premiere of my piece, Courtney Escoyne wrote in The Stewardship Report that the work was most affecting and at its most cohesive. I have studied under several industry professionals including John Kaefer (Quantum Break, Sequestered, Shark Tank), Michael Bacon (The Jewish Americans, Boy Interrupted, The Bacon Brothers) and Sam Estes (Music Editor on Inception, The Dark Knight Rises and Co-Founder of Sonicsmiths/Amper Music).
