Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first performance. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 4 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 2 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I started playing violin in a Suzuki method program, which taught me the importance of training your ear. I honed in my classical skills, and thereon pursued the unconventional in violin genres my going to Berklee College of Music. It gave me possibility to expand my ear even more with free improvisation, jam band, jazz, rock, funk, blues, pop, Middle Eastern and Latin genres, on top of orchestral and quartet playing. Read More
