Circe D. is an award-winning Venezuelan cellist hailing from El Sistema, Venezuelas acclaimed youth music program. She was a student of magnet school New World School of Arts in Florida, studying under David Cole, as well as a cello performance student at the University of Florida graduating both academic programs with honors. Ms. Circe D. also holds a masters degree in Cello Performance from the University of Florida. Ms. Circe D. has performed as a touring featured cellist with The Nuevo Mundo String Quartet, the World Orchestra String Quartet, and as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Aragua and the Whittier Symphony Orchestra, among others. I am very flexible with my teaching methods and put together the best style matching the student's learning strengths. Furthermore, I update and change my methods if I feel the current method is becoming ineffective. With this instrument, repeptition is key to learning. I also strive to set very clear, manageble goals, so students feel a sense of accomplishment at each stage. This sense of accomplishment is motivating to the student as well as the teacher! My teaching experience started in high school when my private teacher started teaching me how to teach. I then accepted students on a continual basis, usually working two jobs. I realized at a later point in my life that I would like to make teaching my profession and started getting more serious about how I would proceed with teaching music. I have had students for over 25 years and without a doubt, parental involvement and practice are the two main factors for success of young students, along with a good teacher. Read More
