i always love to see my students reach a goals on the lessons and i don't believe in "i can't do it", if you can dream it, you can see it, and if you can see it you can do it!. i always believe that the everybody can play an instrument if you say that is not for you, that is just a sign that you just need more practice that other people , i already teach a kid to play violin and also a grandma to sing and play guitar at the same time i think everything is posible you jus need practice over and over again until you make it. For beginner students of violin I always start with the suzuki method and alternate it with the "The new directions" method, while after 3 or 4 weeks I start with some repertoire according to how the student evolves. In the case of piano I start with John Thompson's methodology "Teaching little fingers to play", alternated with exercises of the book Junior Hanon for piano, I try to evaluate the student qualitatively before quantitatively at least once a month. The work of learning the instrument is divided in 2 parts, the teachers part and the student. The teacher has to be clear, loving and practical to help the student progress.
