I enjoy teaching so much because I am able to watch each student develop a passion for music, work towards rewarding careers, and grow a great sense of curiosity. Watching students work through challenges and become excited about music is very rewarding. Students in my studio are encouraged to take on new challenges, but also to learn at their own pace. Each student works with me individually to set goals at each lesson. Read More

I have played violin since the age of eleven. I began formal violin training with Ye Tao from 2004 to 2006. I later continued with Sarah Chung from 2008 to 2010 and Dr. Meredith Arksey in 2015. Additionally, I received vocal lessons from David Paul Mesler in 2013 and piano lessons from Yuka Sasaki in 2015. I regularly freelance around the Seattle area as a soloist, orchestra member (including pit orchestras), chamber musician, and studio session musician. Read More

I have been teaching privately part time for the past 4 years working with students in grades K-12. My main goal in lessons is for my students to not only succeed at a new skill once, but to be confident in their ability to repeat their success in practice at home and at our next lessons. I know each student is different in terms of learning style and musical goals. I make it a priority to keep the student's best interest in mind when giving assignments and setting weekly goals for practicing. The most important thing I want to leave the student with is a sense of fascination and appreciation for music. Whether an interest in classical or country music, I can transform any material into a learning opportunity that is fun, educational, and progressive for the student's musical and technical development. Hi, Im Peyton. I discovered my passion for music as a child and was involved in numerous state choirs, prestigious orchestras, and symphonies. In high school I trained with Dr Jacobson, one of the best pianists in this part of the country, and under director Dr Cobbs of the Tacoma Youth Symphony. Also in high school, I decided I was going to become a film composer and began my journey in the science of writing music. Read More

My teaching experience varies for each of the instruments I instruct. I began teaching private lessons for guitar in 2004. My voice instruction began in 2009, and the rest of the listed instruments I began to teach in 2012. I believe consistent daily practice is essential for improvement in my students, and encourage my students to log their practice time. In the words of my professor Todd Woodbury, "You do not become a master from what you do within these lessons. Read More
