I specialize in teaching classical Suzuki method, however, my teaching skills are broad. Starting from beginner level students and teaching them technicalities and specifics of classical violin to teaching students of any age creative writing and spontaneous playing. I also specialize in creative pop song writing and alternative recording. This includes training students who see themselves pursuing playing violin for bands and in more diverse musical cultures. I stress the basics: scales, arpeggios and chords for piano and scales and double stops for violin. In regard to the piano, I have students practice each hand alone before combining them. Generally two pieces are assigned for students to work on and that work is continued for several weeks. I emphasize sight reading and rhythm. I have extensive experience as a teacher as well as a performer. I bring these two accomplishments together to provide a well rounded experience for my students.  In High School, I performed with the Kansas City Youth Symphony for 8 years, the Kansas City Cello Choir for eight years, the Missouri All-State for three years, and various other honor orchestras throughout her career. In 2014 I founded the string program at Lincoln Heights Youth Arts Center, a program that provides affordable music classes to students aged 8-18. Additionally, in the past two years I have been the primary music instructor at Lincoln and Mountain Avenue Elementary Schools in La Crescenta.
