Teaching for me means to be constantly creative and flexible about gauging expectations and output, adjusting methods according to the students' ability to respond, and discovering new paths that are often dictated by the students themselves. I try to remain open-minded about the ways that musical goals can be achieved, rather than getting locked up in a routine that might have been successful before.
