After Book 1 of each series, we begin to explore standard repertoire. Alfred Book 2 is a large jump in difficulty, meant only for more advanced students. I use multiples methods. One of them is the Susuki method. I consider that is a good method for beginners with a lot of techniques exercises and also includes pieces. For me it is essential that a student learn first all the techniques exercises and then start to create music. For violin, viola, cello and bass, I teach the Suzuki method. The Suzuki method is based strongly on memory and takes a systematic approach to introducing music of increasing difficulty. For classical guitar, I start off with the Frederick Noad system, "Solo Guitar Playing", and scales. As skill level increases, I assign more etudes and standard guitar repertoire. For acoustic guitar, I teach almost exclusively finger-picking. I teach the same high standard skills for acoustic guitar that I teach for classical, but concentrate on masterpieces of the repertoire. Read More

In the seventeen years he has been immersed in this field, he has been a coach of the violin section of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, and the National Youth and Children Orchestras of Venezuela in preparation for international tours and concerts with renowned conductors such as Giuseppe Sinopoli, Claudio Abaddo, Sir Simon Rattle and Gustavo Dudamel. Throughout the process, I also integrate tidbits of music theory and history to give the student a more well-rounded experience.  As for guitar and piano, I normally take a more custom approach to teaching that tends to not revolve around any specific method book. However, I typically teach beginning pianists and guitarists how to read through and play simple pieces of music so that they understand the fundamentals before moving on to a mix of songs or pieces that I select and songs or pieces that the student wishes to play so as to keep things fresh and exciting.  Read More
