In June 2023, I graduated with a Masters degree at Northwesterns Bienen School of Music. Passionate about orchestral playing, I have held concertmaster and principal positions with the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, South Side Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony, UCLA Philharmonia, Colburn orchestras, American Youth Symphony, and the Debut Orchestra. I have also been lucky enough to tour globally to France, Russia, Finland, and Estonia. Presently, I am building my teaching studio throughout the Chicago area. Read More

I teach students in either the Traditional method, or the Suzuki Method. I am also capable of doing a hybrid method catered to the students needs. If you aren't familiar with Suzuki Method it involves a lot of listening and singing in addition to playing the instrument. My students love being able to pick there own pieces, so I usually combine a classical piece with a piece of their choosing. Read More

The approach, overall, is to drive toward the student's goal. When someone wants to learn how to play an instrument well enough to play in a band or orchestra, I usually consider two needs - playing music and interpreting written music. My methods depend on my students' ages, experience, and instruments. I incorporate books from Full Voice, Suzuki, Schradiek, Piano Pronto, Bastien, and more! I ensure that my students are getting the essential education that will help them grow and succeed as a musician. In addition to teaching exercises, technic, warmups, scales, chords, arpeggios (and more), I also ensure that students are applying these things to pieces that are important to learn through lesson books and with songs that my students want to learn. A very important aspect to my enjoyment of all of these pursuits is the degree to which they actually connect and overlap with many other topics and disciplines- science, mathematics, visual art, language and sociology all intersect with music at one point or another. This indiscriminate enthusiasm that I have for all music and all topics is something that I am very excited to share with and impart upon my future students- and that I have every intention of carrying with me into each lesson that I teach. My teaching experience dates back to my highschool days and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 10 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the violin/viola and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More
