My aspirations as a violin instructor are to enable students to identify, understand, and assess challenges they contend to search for possible solutions. I am a proponent of self-directed learning, and intentionally create situations in class that allow the students to learn through the unconventional approach. I also encourage students to come up with their own exercises and possible solutions for any challenge they encounter. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

After learning the guitar and piano, I went on to several other instruments learning the theory and dedication needed to excel. While doing so, I was able to utilize the music theory in an understanding to be able to apply those theory principals to the instrument for better artistry. I'm a passionate, friendly, and motivated instructor who loves working with children and adults of all ages. I love to be able to share my love of music, both through performing and through teaching. I received my master's degree from Northwestern University and since then, I have moved to the Philadelphia area, where I teach through a variety of programs, including Musicopia, the Philadelphia Youth Orchestras, the Music School of Delaware, and the Darlington Arts Center.
