I grew up as a Suzuki student, but in my professional teaching life have learned to add additional methods into lessons to supplement training. For young, beginner students, I start them off with a method book like "All for Strings," which teaches first by rote. While I was participating Edinberg festival In U.K, I had chance to share my music with young musicians and people. I have also done composition and sound design for Smashing Graphics Game Studios and Haus Music Library. While there I composed and mixed music and sound effects for video games, TV shows, commercials and animated shorts on Logic Pro X, Cubase and Digital Performer. Most recently I have been doing work as the Composer Assistant to NYC film composer, Todd Griffin who has scored over 40 feature length films. I score cues, orchestrate and record music for him.  I've been actively teaching for nearly 35 years. Teaching children as well as adults. I graduated from Drake University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Music Education. While in college I played professionally in the Des Moines Symphony and was the winner of the Young Artist Contest which afforded me the privilege of featured soloist with the Drake Symphony Orchestra. Hello, I love both music, the violin, and working with children of all ages! I recently graduated with a Master's degree in violin pedagogy and moved to Pasadena, CA.
