After graduating from NYU in 2004 with an MA in music performance, I became an active freelance musician where I played orchestral concerts in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. My first teaching experience dates back to High School when I had the opportunity to coach elementary orchestra students. As a student at University of Colorado at Boulder and DePaul University, I completed String Pedagogy courses which covered all the different elements of teaching from how to manage a private studio to instructing your students. I started teaching in high school, with my very own private students, and coached non-music major ensembles during my undergraduate degree in addition to receiving pedagogy training. As many performers do, I began as a reluctant teacher, but quickly realized that teaching is extremely rewarding and fun! I make sure that the students are enjoying the lessons while pushing them to play as well as they can.
