I have a lot of experience with curriculum development. My favorite books to teach from include Accent on Achievement, Alfred's Piano Book series and Essential Elements. Beginning students focus on establishing healthy fundamentals while learning how the trumpet works. Lessons typically introduce tone production, breathing, articulation, basic fingerings, rhythm, reading music, and the first scales and repertoire. Intermediate players begin developing greater consistency, range, endurance, flexibility, articulation, sight-reading, and musical understanding. At this stage, lessons also become increasingly focused on identifying weaknesses and learning how to practice them effectively. Read More
