My teaching experience dates back to 2014, when I began teaching private piano lessons at a non-profit organization in Key West, Florida. This was what I looked forward to every week at the time and have learned so much about what it means to be a mentor and teacher on top of being a performer. At this location, I have worked with up to 20 students that were enrolled in free music education, as it may have not been available to them privately at an affordable cost. Read More

I have been teaching private lessons at Northside Christian School for almost 2 full years at this point, and have been helping out during marching band season every year since 2017. During the first part of 2021, I have also substituted for jazz instructor during the school year of Tarpon Springs High School, and while there I have taught more students on jazz improvisation as well as fundamentals on the trombone. I also occasionally come in to my old high school to work with the jazz ensemble, combo, or even just specific sections of the band. Read More

I have taught privately off and on through-out the years in several cities that I've lived in. I like to challenge students but not expect more than they are able to deliver. I like to concentrate and focus on the basics of playing while expanding on the students ability. I believe strongly in a good daily warm-up and daily routine. I believe that with 30-45 minutes of daily practice time, any student can see noticeable, continual improvement. Read More

At the very beginning level I would start with fundamentals from whatever book I feel would be best for the student depending on their age and knowledge. Beforehand I definitely will need to asses their knowledge so I can do so accordingly. I however will now focus on solely fundamentals and will try to include in songs that the student would like to learn as long as it is in the bounds of reality, the lessons I provide are only part of the equation and the real work is what is put in after the lesson. All program students are assigned a daily routine to complete, song to perform, and focus exercise. For single lessons, I perform an inventory of skills, supplementary lesson, and assessment for an improvement plan. I select technique and training material in conjunction with any programs in which the student is currently participating (i.e. school band programs, other instruction, etc.). For more advanced students, consideration is given for playing goals, projects, performances, etc. Read More
