While in Florida I was the go-to guy for session work at Omega 4 Studio doing jingles and backing tracks for TV and independent movies. When not out playing or in the studio I teach guitar and do guitar clinics for JB Player Guitars. Right now I am working in the studio when I have the time making a debut solo CD, a slow work in progress called Electrica Acoustica Exotica. Read More

I have taught privately since 2006, though occasionally I will take two students from the same household, church or neighborhood and pair them up in what is known as a "partner lesson". Each person takes turns at the piano playing their respective scales, repertoire etc. and we offer one another encouragement as well as constructive criticism for those technical issues in need of improvement. I do hold seasonal recitals during Christmas and spring seasons as an outlet for my students to showcase the songs and pieces they have learned throughout the year. Read More

I am a graduate of the Edna Manley College of the Performing Arts where I studied Music Education. I also have a diploma in Piano Performance and Teaching from the Royal College of Music. I have been an instrumental instructor for the past 25 years, and enjoy sharing the joys of music with learners. I believe that learning to play an instrument should be an enjoyable experience. I acknowledge that all students are different and learn at different paces, so my teaching is tailored to accommodate each student's strengths, weaknesses, likes and preferences. Read More

Due to my experience working with multiple grade/age levels, I have learned to carefully fine tune my teaching strategy for each individual student that I work with. At the beginner level I typically work from method books to ensure a solid development of performance fundamentals. I also like to spend a good bit of time establishing successful warm-up and practice routines. With intermediate level students I continue with more challenging method books as well as standard musical excerpts and etudes. Read More

Despite having had classical piano training via Trinity College of Music and the Royal Schools of Music at an early age, I have always appreciated music of every genre. So as a child I took the responsibility of learning to play other styles on my own. It quickly became obvious not only to me but to my fellow classical students that I had a huge advantage over all the other students in the real music world, because I could appeal to a much wider audience. For beginning students who are children, I start with Faber and Faber book sets. I then use the books to help guide the students as they grow their abilities and levels. For adults, I would also use Faber and Faber adult beginner books. As well as other adult beginner books based on the music genre preference of the adult. For all student I will also include some of my personal music theory, practicing log book and flash card methods. Read More

I'm a very passionate and caring teacher who loves nothing more than to share my love for music. I've had sixteen years of formal professional training in piano starting at the age of four, as well as six years of cello which I played in the ASYO for four years. I also was the middle and high school pianist, church and choral accompanist from grades 6-12. I was pointed towards being a concert pianist had I continued in performance. Read More
