To me, the key element for a successful learning experience is to engage the student in the lesson and during their individual practice. I have battled with ADHD my whole life and I distinctly remember daydreaming during many of my classes in college, retaining little-to-no information. It is very difficult to engage with a topic as complex as music, but it is crucial to absorb every second. I have been teaching private lessons for 7 years part-time, and have been consistently teaching students full time for the last 3 and half years. I have taught at the prestigious Dallas School of Music, in Dallas, TX, and now am excited to join the Musika team. I have a strong foundation in classical and non-classical genres, so I've enjoyed teaching students of all skills levels, from 4 year old piano students, to 70 year old voice students, with many others in between.
