I am a young passionate and motivated musician who loves interacting with students and sharing my love for music. I am currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro majoring in Music performance with a concentration in Jazz. Mainly based in the North Carolina region I have performed all over the east coast in clubs venues and jazz festivals. I have had the opportunity to share the stage with a number of top notch musicians and have even taken my band to host one of the late night jam sessions at the Pittsburg International Jazz festival. For beginning students, I start with the Essential Elements book. If the student has already taken lessons or is in their school band/orchestra, I encourage moving onto the Rubank Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced method books depending on ability. Once a student has proven that they are able to handle it, I will start on solo repertoire. I like to say that while I have a very methodical and systematic approach to teaching that I am also relaxed and laid back. I never want my students to fear their lesson. While I expect progress for the serious student I also fully recognize the limitations and conflicts of "life getting in the way". I am a big proponent of giving compliments whenever possible. I am not a cookie cutter teacher in that I can adapt my teaching style to meet the needs and goals of the student. Read More
