For beginning students, I start with the Essential Elements book. If the student has already taken lessons or is in their school band/orchestra, I encourage moving onto the Rubank Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced method books depending on ability. Once a student has proven that they are able to handle it, I will start on solo repertoire. Particularly for college-bound musicians who wish to major in music, the majority of their lessons will be based on preparing solo literature for All District or college auditions. Read More

I am a clarinetist, student, and educator excited about sharing my knowledge of music and the clarinet with students. I completed my MM degree in the Spring of 2023 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, College of Visual and Performing Arts, studying clarinet performance with Dr. Andy Hudson and Dr. Anthony Taylor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) in the spring of 2020, graduating summa cum laude with honors. Read More

I use my own method books alongside other pedagogical resources such as the guitar methods left by Carulli, Carcassi, Sor, Brouwer, and many others. Read More

For beginning students I typically start with sound development and articulation for the brass instruments starting with armband studies and schlosburg studies. For the intermediate students I work on Clark studies and intersperse getchel etudes for artistic development. Advanced students work on major recital works for brass that help their development for performance. Guitar students learn chordal techniques with rythem patterns and a blend of classical playing finger picking for individual technique for fingers. Read More

Music is fun! I want each learner to leave lessons feeling successful. Music should be about the progress, not the perfection. This is accomplished through realistic goal setting and personalized lesson content. Learners of all ages, but particularly young musicians, want to learn something they are interested in. I have vast knowledge of music in the media and current trends in the music industry. I am great with technology and finding fun tools to enhance music learning. Read More

I began teaching in 2001 and have taught private lessons on and off since then. I am now starting a new studio and am looking for students who want to learn the joy of piano. I was classically trained and tend to start with this method. This along with the students' musical interests, provides a pathway to learning theory, sight reading, and composing in a fun way. I am looking for students of all ages. Read More
