My teaching experience began during my college years, where I was granted the opportunity to work closely with young students in one on one settings as part of my practical courses, since then student teaching and a leave replacement position at Raynor Country Day School in Speonk have given me the opportunity to develop my skill set as a teacher and find new and exciting ways to challenge my students to develop as musicians. As far as my style of teaching, I would use the book, Accent on Achievement as I mentioned earlier as a base. Practicing every day for at least 30 minutes is a must not only from the book but by just playing long tones, playing major scales which I will also go over and possibly some songs to keep the student interested in his instrument. Also try to understand what type of style the student is leaning on whether it be Jazz, blues, classical or pop and we can try to develop the student to fit that style. Read More

Hello! My name is Noah and I am a passionate trumpet player who loves helping students develop musicianship and discover the joys of music. I graduated from the Juilliard School with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies in 2018, and then received a Masters of Music from Juilliard in 2019. I have been fortunate to play all around the world, from Melbourne, Australia to Bern, Switzerland at some prestigious jazz festivals. Read More

I then received my Masters of Arts in Music Education along with New York state certification for grades Pre-K through 12th grade. The year I graduated with my masters I was hired to work for the New York city Department of Education teaching general music and Band to grades Pre-K through eighth grade. I loved teaching, but I knew I wanted to learn more, which brings me to where I am now. Read More

I directly relate my teaching methods to Dr. Jan Kagrice, the founder of Musician's Wellness of North America; an organization that rehabilitates musicians with conditions that affect their ability to play their instruments. I've continued her teachings of a relaxed, observational form of playing, which basically means that my students learn how to play a brass instrument with the least amount of effort possible with the best sound possible. The method is also very body-oriented, with healthy stretches and focus on a sustainable way to play these instruments. Read More

I like to tailor my approach to each student and the things they find inspiring about brass instruments. I will set goals and motivate my students in a way that works for their learning style. Lessons will always be engaging, challenging and fun. All students will begin with a foundation in the essential trumpet method books including the Arban, Clarke, Schlossberg and Chichowicz. From there we can explore specific areas of interest, with my specialties being upper register development, improvisation, jazz theory, transcription and solo pieces/concertos. Read More

I divided my lesson in four parts: Make find your own sound, Technique, HarmonyEar Training, Repertoire. If you are beginner student is a different intensity and difficulty than for a intermediate or advance student, but the approach is the same. I don't care about the lesson in itself, but I care that the student create his/her own musical path. I put a lot of passion in my teaching and I work for the student outside the lesson as well; making specific backing track and exercise for the specific student or helping him/her out for get in a band or to auditioning for music schools.
