I'm very passionate about teaching and love to work with all ages of students. I had a studio in Mountain Top, PA for 25 years until our family moved to Utah. I recently relocated to the Lehigh Valley. I've performed with many orchestras and have coached many students to be able to compete and perform at Carnegie Hall for many years. For beginning students, I start with Accent on Achievement, book one. Once the student has gotten a grasp of the fundamentals, I then introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for the student. I will always reference the method book if students are having trouble with a certain technique. For beginning jazz students, I start with the Greg Fishman Jazz books. Once students have mastered this book, I then switch to the omnibook and real book and allow students to learn and try to improvise a solo. Read More

Some of my favorite and most rewarding feelings in life have been when students have an "aha!" moment. These moments come after consistent engagement with a concept. Thats why I encourage daily practice (of any length, as long as its daily.) I balance grunt work with fun work, making sure that students are learning music THEY want to learn. My lessons usually begin with a short warm up, followed by a review of the goals set last week, followed by the introduction development of a new concept(or two), and concluding with a setting of goals for the next lesson, with the answering of questions all in between.
