I graduated from University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music with a degree in Acoustical Engineering, concentration in Trumpet in 2017. I graduated as the valedictorian of my class. I have played in many places across the state of CT and have had many opportunities to perform and learn from many incredible instructors. I am a very dedicated and caring music teacher with 23 years of experience. I have taught students of all ages from early elementary school to senior citizens. All of my NYSSMA participating students have received scores of excellent or outstanding in Grades 1-4, and in the 90's on Levels 5 and 6. For beginning students, I always start by learning the notes on the staff that corresponds with their specific instrument. Knowledge and confidence of this is crucial to the learning process. Next, I pick a method book to work through to learn the fundamentals. For trombone, I use Rubank's "Elementary Method." It is a great progressive studies that has great explanations, exercises, etudes, duets, mini-solos, scales studies, and more for young students. Read More

In 2015, I graduated from The Juilliard School with my Bachelor of Music degree, and went on to obtain two Master of Music degrees from The Yale School of Music. Studying at Juilliard and Yale has been a challenging and inspirational experience that provided me with the opportunity to study with experienced and highly motivating professionals, and surround myself with talented, and creative musical colleagues. Knowing how each student learns most efficiently is critical to success in a lesson, and I believe that each student should be taught using as multiple instructional methods as well, including sound, sight, and feel.
