I have been a Music Educator for over 15 years. I began my career as a Band Director. I also have experience working with Elementary music. I have been teaching private lessons for approximately 18 years. I have experience teaching 5 year olds up to adults. I have taught piano, percussion, violin, clarinet, trombone, flute and trumpet. For beginning students who are children, I like to start with Hal Leanard's Rubank Elementary Method Cornet/Trumpet. If a student has a grasp of the fundamentals, I work with the basic blues and scales to build a repetoire. For Adults, I like to work with jazz standards as well as H.L. Clarke's Technical Studies for Cornet and Arban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet. I like to make my lessons fun and engaging. Read More

Now fast-forward to March 2021, I was hired by Presidio ISD to teach middle school band. From then until May 2022, I got to teach middle school band along with choir and mariachi. I also occasionally helped at the local high school. What I have learned while teaching middle school, especially with beginners, is that playing along can be helpful initially. Mostly unknown to the local jazz scene, word-of-mouth drew people to hear his unique sound at small bars in East Austin.
