"Playing the trumpet" is a physically demanding task that requires diligent, often tedious practice to become skilled at. "Making music", on the other hand, can be done by anyone at any skill level and is lots of fun. Music is not a test and their is no failing, there is only the end result, which ends when the student makes progress, no matter how long it takes.
