Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba
I'm a down to Earth, patient teacher willing to help my students pursue their goal anywhere from getting into college, pursuing a career, or even helping someone fulfill their dream they never had time for. I live in South Pasadena, however during the school year I live in Pomona where I attend university at Cal Poly Pomona where I major in Tuba Performance. Despite the fact I play Tuba the most, I also play in the pep band as a lead trumpet. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet Euphonium
I always like to get a feel for the students ability first and then choose the right level to begin with them. I always start with some exercise work to strengthen the basics and then include a lot of fun pieces to boost the fun and satisfaction with the improvement. I am very effective at improving a players ability and enjoyment of the instrument. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet Synthesizer Keyboard
I usually start my piano and vocal students with playing and singing both major and minor scales while using proper fingering and while breathing properly on this musical journey. On the other hand once a student shows and develops better fundamentail skills, then I'll start introducing intermediate musical concepts and ideals. Then we can focus on getting prepared for a great performance either at school, church,or home in front of family and friends. Read More

To me it is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. I use a lot of play along material and I show and play for the student a lot of playing techniques and riffs for examples and what is possible and how to progress. Read More

I began teaching privately in 2012 during my undergraduate studies. I taught in both private and ensemble settings. I also, spent time teaching music theory in a classroom setting. I treat practicing the trumpet as if it is a part of the student's daily school curriculum so it does not upset the students daily life. I give students progressive weekly goals so that they can consistently build and learn while having fun. Read More
Instruments: Voice Trumpet Saxophone Flute Clarinet Recorder
When I was in middle and high school, I can say that I was not the most talented saxophonist. Even in college, I had to play catch-up. I never had access to a teacher that provided me with the insight to develop myself. That was true until, my third year of higher education. My passion and drive to become a better version of my past flared. For me, music is a passion and my life, but it is secondary to me. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet Accordion French Horn Music Keyboard
Essentials are first. Note names, hand position, mouth position, air, posture, rhythms, sheet music, ear training - it's all important and needs to happen concurrently. Everyone has different strengths; some students are able to handle a large amount of information stacking while others need a more one-at-a-time approach. Music is all about doing several physical and mental things at once, developing self awareness in learning *how* to improve a skill, and myelinating the pathways in your brain for the fastest connections possible.
