Through music, I've had the opportunity to play in many different states, as well as overseas. I am eclectic in my musical experiences, as I am at home teaching classical, jazz, and other styles. I've been teaching since about my sophomore year in college, So that puts me at approximately 4 years at this. I have taught private lessons, entire sections and entire ensembles. Ensembles that I have taught have gone on to win many awards, I've even had a few of my private students make it to their district bands. I am a young aspiring student just like those that I teach and, therefore I enjoy having fun and keeping the student engaged as I understand how hard it is to focus when beginning to play an instrument like the trumpet which may seems mundane at first. My main quote for success is to,"aim for the moon and if you fail you will land among the stars." I encourage my students to set goals that may be a little outside of their comfort zone, but I will never set a goal that is outside the level of achievement for a specific students skills. As the student becomes more accomplished, I supplement with method books and solo literature from the repertoire of the individual instrument.
