Their perception is different than my perception and I can learn a lot about how to teach them based on how much they may already understand or do not understand. At the University of Idaho, I had the opportunity to be a Learning Assistant for freshman music theory, aural skills, and jazz theory; a position that involved more actual teaching than the typical teaching assistantship.
