Being able to teach at such a young age not only encouraged personal growth on my instrument but inspired my love for teaching and sharing a joy of music. I continued teaching lessons to middle and high school students throughout my undergraduate program and added music theory and composition elements into my instrumental lessons in order to appeal to more learning styles and provide a comprehensive understanding to encourage mindfulness and success. I began teaching private music lessons in college in 2003. I have been teaching lessons consistently for the last 10 years from my home studio, online, as well as traveling to the students' home. I find great pleasure in hearing a student's progress, that's why I encourage recording their practice and having a consistent practice schedule. I feel it is important to give positive reinforcement and feedback to students. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.
