As I help my students accomplish their musical goals in a fun, disciplined and fast paced way, I get great satisfaction watching them discover and develop their talents, skills and abilities. My hope is that my pupils will learn enough about music from me to be able to learn and play any new music of their choice independent of my help. Read More

I have taught private trombone lessons while I was attending University of North Texas and taught trombone and piano for another private music company. There are many great method books out there for young students. Typically, I use whatever material the school provides, be it Standard of Excellence or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. I like to incorporate other methods for more advanced students, such as the Conservatory Method by Jean-Baptiste Arban, Michael Davis's many offerings, and/or any of the great etude books out there. I feel it is best to use a well-rounded approach, especially considering the students needs as it pertains to their goals. Read More

Making sure that the student is having fun, learning and achieving their musical goals is most important. I understand that each student progresses at their own pace and has diffrent goals and desires. While there are certian excersises that everyone needs to work on, solos and concert pieces are what students are drawn to. Therefore, I make sure that students are working on fun and challenging pieces that will keep them engaged in music. Read More
