I have been regularly teaching Euphonium, Tuba, and Trombone since 2020. I was primary Euphonium staff at 3 High Schools and 5 middle schools. I've taught ages 10-70, and my students regualrly find success at both solo and ensemble competitions, as well as regional and all state bands. I teach a wide range of materials, from method books and solos, to pop songs and marching tunes. For beginner students, I will usually start with the basic fundamentals of playing the instrument. This would include tone production, articulation, flexibility, scales, arpeggios, and sight reading. Once the student has become more fluent in the technique of their instrument I will start to ask them what they want to work on and improve upon. I began taking on students from my high school simply as a way to give back and help students with upcoming auditions. I made it a point to develop a consistent practice regimen consisting of warm-ups, fundamentals, and solo work.
