The methods that I would typically use are the Arbans complete Conservatory method for trumpet and Cornet. Schlossberg´s Daily Drills and Studies, Clarkes method and Caruso. I have been studying these four methods quite some time now and understand not only the instruction on the page but the purpose of the excercise itself. Knowing how each student learns most efficiently is critical to success in a lesson, and I believe that each student should be taught using as multiple instructional methods as well, including sound, sight, and feel. I give the tools for the student to become a better player and to build confidence. If the student is participating in the schools music program I help them prepare for stage band performances or recitals. When I went to college, this passion for teaching lessons grew as I was fortunate enough to have a small studio through the help of my college professor.
