Throughout my life I have been an active member of bands, choirs, and drama. In high school I was a part of every ensemble available including the Lockport Marching Porters, jazz bands, pep bands, and the top group the Wind Symphony for three years. Simultaneously all four years I participated in every choir I could, as well as the spring musicals, often with lead roles. In college I was part of the Wind Symphony, Wind Orchestra, Symphonic Bands, the Marching Illini: Baritone Squad-Leader, British Brass Band, Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble/quartets, and the Varsity Mens Glee Club chorus. The most important philosophical concept about private lessons is this: proceed in a way that will maximize your potential to achieve an excellent goal that you can call your own. I also incorporate solo repertoire and encourage my students to take part in activities such as the IMEA Solo and Ensemble Competitions. Regardless of the students ability, teaching fundamentals of the instrument are my priority.
