I began assisting teachers during high school for extra credit. It later became my job during Full Sail. I worked extensively with grades K-5 on reading, writing and math skills enrichment. When I graduated I started to see my joy was working with children and helping each individual get to their own "next level" and that is when I began teaching music privately. I encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals of which I help with the prep for and can conduct them there if need be.  Read More

My first job out of college was teaching at a charter school where I saw all the students in the school for 9 week periods. For beginning students I would begin with a basic introduction of the instrument and its history. I believe that each instrument has a story to tell! I use a basic book such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or whatever material the student's band director is using. Flexibility is the key.
