Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
There are many acceptable method books for beginning students, however, I have found that if a student gets relatively comfortable on their instrument before trying to decipher a grand staff, they seem to enjoy the learning experience more. The hardest part of teaching music, in my opinion, is the educational content that isn't in a method book. Finding someone who can play your instrument better than you can often be more inspirational than finding a new piece that is slightly out of your comfort zone or using a method book that, at the end of the day, is supposed to help a student reach the ability level of the person the student aspires to be. Instruments: Voice
My approach to teaching is rooted in a genuine love for music and a deep desire to help others understand and grow in their singing ability. If my student is preparing for a performance I love to help them with stage presence as well. It makes me so happy when I see the progression in my students abilities and the boost in confidence they have by simply knowing they can do what they have been working so hard to achieve. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I have been giving voice lessons for the past 7 years starting in my undergrad years at Alabama State University. I am all about the live performance, so my ultimate goal is to make the singer comfortable with the stage and the music, finding ways to connect to the music to bring out the correct emotion to capture the audience. Breathing is my main focus because without breath there is no voice no sound. Read More
Instruments: Piano Synthesizer
My teaching style is simple; each student is an individual and unique, therefore everyone progresses at their own pace. I take pride in getting to know each of my students, that way I can tailor my instruction to fit their needs. Read More

No matter what, I try to foster personal artistry as a primary goal for my students. That means that they should leave my lessons with one step closer to playing the type of music they want, whether it's in a band class or on stage with a jazz group. I start by teaching the fundamentals and making sure that the student has basic competency in the instrument and in general music knowledge to begin creating music by themselves. Read More

For both voice and guitar, I begin with evaluation of where the student is. I then discuss with the student to realize what their goals are, and why they want to progress in this field. I then assign daily exercises that the student can utilize to begin to build control and virtuosity with their instrument. We will then collaborate to begin choosing repertoire to work on, and find music that makes the student enthused to practice in-between our sessions. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba
I'm a musician working and living in the Atlanta area. The primary instrument that I studied in university is the trombone and i have a lot of love for the unconventional instrument. I've been able to play in tons of bands in the metro area that you wouldn't normally find a trombone in. I love the challenge of finding out how to fit my sound into a new group or genre. Read More
