My number one goal is to help my students accomplish their musical dreams, whether that be a classical pianist, a pop singer, the front person for a rock band, write songs or compose music for film, or just sing their favorite song of all time, whatever it takes, I will make sure that we get to the musical destination. It's important that each student progresses at their own pace. I always ask my students for one long term goal and one short term goal so that we can cast vision for where we are headed, map out the challenges along the way, but also celebrate the goals that we accomplish especially in the short term. For example, if the student in question likes Punk Rock music, every week we'd go over a riff from a popular Punk song. Read More

After graduating from Reinhardt University, I took contracts on cruise ships, playing electric bass in show bands and orchestras on Carnival and Princess cruise lines; this gave me the chance to see much of the world, as well as the opportunity to perform challenging music nightly. I start all beginners with the Mel Bay guitar method. That's how I started. From there we create what works for them. I'm also learning as I teach and creating each lesson newly. I like to keep the lessons fresh and exciting too. Finding fun ways to practice the modes and scales. After each lesson we want to measure our growth and our progress. I also love seeing my students play live too. Read More
