I currently play trombone in ensembles such as the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra, Bone Therapy, Music City Bones, Music City Brass Ensemble, Franklin Brass Quintet, and in other freelance performances throughout the Nashville area. Even though trombone has always been my primary instrument I'm also very active playing bass guitar, playing in a wide variety of bands and genres ranging from hard rock to reggae. My teaching style is based around my love for storytelling and pictures. I will often ask students how a melodic line or etude makes them feel when they hear it or play it. I develop on this and start to guide the student to see the over arching theme of an etude and to develop a wide pallet of many colors to create a picture with their sound. Ive played in a variety of environments including music videos, recording sessions, wind ensembles, orchestras, symphonies, and chamber groups.
