I have been teaching students younger than me since I was in the 8th grade. I began professionally teaching when I began college in 2015. Currently, I teach students from schools involved in TMEA and ATSSB. My students have had success in All Region auditions, Area auditions, and solo and ensemble. My teaching experience comes from a variety of different sources for the last 8 years. During college, I taught at my alumni as a summer marching band assistant. During that time, I also taught trombone and piano lessons to students around the Waco area. I have also taught as a elementary music teacher for two years, and I bring those skills with me to my lessons studio. Sound is the most important aspect of trumpet playing, and the good thing is you can practice pretty much anything and still focus on your sound. For beginners I usually supplement their beginner band book with some simple drills from Schlossberg's Daily Drills or some I wrote myself. The Clarke's Technical Studies and Arban's Complete Conservatory Method are great books as well that I use with most of my intermediate/advanced students. Read More

I started teaching guitar lessons in 1999 (20 years this year!) Since those days I've gotten two degrees and taught at colleges, and private institutions, as well as high school and middle schools. I've found that combining textbook music instruction along with learning to play some of the music the student is listening to keeps them growing and engaged.
